  Reg I used your words and you dismiss them as a "red herring" should I therefore presume all your posts are the same?
  
  Barry and I argue often as I am most definitely "of the left" and he is diametrically opposed, however we do so in a fashion that offers us both the opportunity to "agree to disagree" if that is the appropriate response; the resort to what appears to be one liner point scoring only riles the person you are debating with and further entrenches their view.
  
  You may of course dismiss me in the way you dismiss Barry, but I believe that doing so is likely to prove to be a loss to the debate as both of us have valid and useful knowledge and views to bring to the table.
