  The dictionary definition of Elite is: "A group or class of persons or a member of such a group or class, enjoying superior intellectual, social, or economic status." There is nothing to say that inevitably those people will abuse their good fortune, or even to indicate how they have attained their status. Having an enhanced status does not inevitably lead to abuse of fortune, although clearly it does in some cases, and the risks are there. This thread, however, has flung an offensive name at almost anyone with a bit of money, however it was earned, and has started off with the assumption that those with wealth must surely be greedy pigs and will shaft us. I simply don't think that is helpful.
