  The problems we have are caused by government spending excessively developing a structural deficit in the part of the economic cycle during which deficits should have been eliminated and debts repaid.
  
  I actually want the rich to pay more tax. Your problem is that you and so many others confuse tax rates with tax paid. High tax rates reduce the levels of revenue paid by the rich. These people have many ways they can reduce their tax quite legally. The problem is that this also reduces economic activity.
  
  I want more tax revenues from the rich and more economic activity too and reduced tax rates will help achieve that. It is not only I who says this, the evidence for what I say is overwhelming.
  
  You will also incentivise more investment and risk taking generating economic growoth and more jobs. Yes other things need to be done as well but this would help.
