  Department of health apologised last night and revealed 25 senior staff have their salaries paid into limited
  
  companies in order to reduce their tax bill to the treasury.
  
  Whitehall says we cannot defend these arrangements but it may be common place in Whitehall and this is
  
  just the tip of the ice-berg.
  
  In a commons question asking if any staff were being paid in this manner...........a written reply from a
  
  health minister it stated no staff were paid this way.
  
  It appears among the 25 some are paid over £ 200,000 pa with one paid £ 233,375 pa
  
  It was confirmed last night the Treasury are carrying out a review.
  
  It is hoped they mean all government departments............watch this space..........
