Depends what you mean by 'wrong' of course. But (and this is just the last decade or so) try Campbell, Clegg, Farron, Cable, Swinson; or Hague, Duncan Smith, Howard, May (some would say Cameron and Johnson); also James, Nuttall, Bolton, Batten, Braine; even Bennett, Lucas and Bartley, Bartley (him again) and Berry... shows it's not just a Labour thing. Why? A qualitative intellectual deterioration in ruling class fodder? An effete education in entitlement? Career politics and a dearth of real-life experience? Who knows. But it's a factory line, a mass production of metropolitan stuffed shirts, and Starmer's just one more of them. Not since Charles Kennedy could any of them have done justice to a cap-sleeve t-shirt and a bottle of NBA.
