Nigel Farage got us the Referendum, nobody else can claim the credit. Hannan has written some very good articles on the EU over the years but I don't remember him campaigning hard during the run up to the vote or afterwards.

I have never voted UKIP but if there is one man who has changed the political climate in UK over the past few decades it is Farage.
Personally I would like to see him in the House of Lords and being knighted.
It is an absolute joke that he remains un-honoured when we throw knighthoods at people who can run, jump or swim slightly faster than others at the Olympics.

Had a chat with Dan Hannan a few years back along with Charlie at a street stall in Deal, he came across as a decent guy and incredibly clued up on all that was bad about the EU. As far as I can remember Charlie also fully agreed at that time that we should pull out of the EU but, like many others, when push comes to shove principles go out of the window!
Unfortunately I doubt that we'll ever see Nigel anywhere near parliament, he'd upset too many of the establishment by telling them how it is!

He won't be knighted because he speaks out when he knows many people probably don't share his opinion.
I don't agree with some of what he says but when he's being interviewed on the news it's almost like the presenter is trying to mock him, but credit where it's due he always comes back with a good answer.
The world would be a better place if more people had his personality and were not afraid to speak out for what they believe in.

I've been lucky enough to spend time with them both, I like them both very much but it's no secret they don't get on. Compare them with the dullards we have him parliament, we'd be far better off with independent thinkers, alas we're stuck with moribund apparatchiks. Worse still at DDC we have the likes of Captain Haddock.
