    This is the Town Council you're referring to, Keith?

    If so, who cares? Unnecessary waste of taxpayers' money, IMHO. In recent years it has shown how easily it can be manipulated into a virtual fiefdom by those with an inclination to do so. Public accountability then becomes lost.

    There must be other ways of organising civic events without having such a blatant waste of public money associated with it.
