  whilst I share bits of your view I need to explain a little more,,,
  
  Tower hamlets was safe but you recall lost to the UKIP party atl last election
  st rads safest labour seat lost to an independent so no longer safe.
  Your view and mine on indies may differ....
  
  When the Town council got itself involved in the indies, most were aligned to a political party, so not that independent even though on paper they were supposed to be.
  
  I recall David Hannant clearly stating whilst on town council hes independent of all parties within a week he became a tory councillor on district.
  So that vision is a good one
