This quote is somewhat nutty: "Thirdly, she is concerned that some unscrupulous traders from outside the EU could exploit the lack of controls and get their goods across the border without tariffs or checks", since non-EU goods will either pass through existing controls, eg. at LHR and FXT, if coming direct, or will cross the EU under Transit. In short, no change there in either scenario.
However, I do share the rest of her concerns, especially given that trade with the EU will need to confirm to EU/Common Transit rules wef 1st January. I fail to understand why, having advocated Brexit and won a GE on the back of it, the Johnson administration is making such a hash of it.
