    My apologies for the link; when I posted it, the article was all about Mr Gove and not at all about alarm regarding "perishable" (ie. 'unrefrigerated' - unless you have an axe to grind) produce.

    100% of trucks and their overall loads will have customs checks pre- or post-crossing or during it. My beef is with customs declarations and checks on individual consignments; as we speak, most food/plant/public safety checks (on goods from non-EU countries) are performed inland, at places like Motis or near to the journey's end. Why on earth would any reasonable person seek to have them at the border? Oo, I feel a JR coming on!
