Curiously, DHB's own press release makes no mention of the port taking "a substantial financial hit if no agreement had been reached by the October 31 deadline".
What is true, is that a significant downturn in traffic caused by defections to other routes or by a reduction in trade with the EU will put a squeeze on DWDR financing and the Community Fund.
A small price to pay. Personally I couldn't care less if the Port of Dover survives Brexit as long as we are out on the 31st.
