Caught a bit on the radio where someone from the federation of small businesses was making a very valid point about what would suddenly become an export to a small business. Suddenly a run of the mill small order sent to a long term customer in Spain for example would need export documentation. Not a big problem to a major exporter who would have experience of shipping world wide but a major headache for a small concern that would have to enlist the assistance of a freight forwarder or customs broker. The same applies to small businesses that import who given the high costs of customs clearance will in many cases have to stop trading.

Which makes me wonder how companies big and small have managed to export or import to and from countries outside of the EU for years.

Yet more pointless conjecture and negativity instead of working on the positive, strange how these many so called experts are never neutral in the responses to questions, I suppose it depends which side the editors and interviewers want to push.
