Personally I'd like to see politics in this country move beyond the simplistic division of 'left wing' and 'right wing', I'm not sure they are much use anymore except to reinforce tribal party politics, which most people are sick of. I increasingly find that my own views are a mix; some could certainly be characterised as very right wing, but others would be judged left of centre by many people. For example I increasingly feel there should be a more direct relationship between how hard you work and what you get paid. Many people work their socks off for relatively little; can a bit of extra responsibility and (sometimes) ability really entitle people to 5, 10, 20 times the pay of those below them?
But I digress. The BBC definitely does have its biases, it is definitely more Guardian than Telegraph. It will only achieve better balance by recruiting outside its usual comfort zones I think.
