Attacking the poor
We see a constant attack on benefit claimants by conservative and labour, and some ukip members.
But the reality is ,it's the system that's demonizing all the working class as worthless scum
The reality is ,,most benefits are going to pensioners, that have paid in ,and rich landlords.
The link is a very go documentary of the not to distant past, that probably affected all of us.

The poor will always be a good target for politicians as they are the least likely to vote.

That doesn't make it right Howard - although I know you know that.
I think it is probably true that most poor people in receipt of benefit, don't vote, which in itself, is a big shame.
Low wage earners are low wage earners sometimes because they don't have a good education; I know from personal experience (my brother) that it is obviously not always the case. If young people bunk off of school, they are hardly likely to get a good education (unless they come to their senses after they leave school and then do further studies) and wirthout a good education, they can't expect a good or above average wage.
Many unemployed people are turning to being self-employed and when they make a success of that, they may start to enjoy the fruits of their labour and even employ people.
My brother has another job, better pay and far better working conditions, but he and his wife have been at a very low level, with nothing and the only furniture they had, was from free-cycle.
I watched some of the program on that link and yes I agree that being in the work-house or poor-house, must have been so incredibly awful, but thankfully that's not the case now.

The problem with a lot of schools in my view Roger is that the focus is on the academic pupils and the rest are forgotten.
Not just a recent thing, when I was at school we went without a maths teacher for 3 years, lessons delivered by an assortment of teachers that were qualified in R.I, Music and Art.
We had one teacher, forget the subject, that simply told us to write stuff out of a text book onto lined paper whilst he read his Ian Fleming novels.

The biggest thing dragging the poor down is artificially high rents /accommodation, high council tax , and over priced utilities
If the poor are out of work, 2 of these bills get lifted from them.
The labour party in there wisdom decided to invite the EUs poor in ,just to make there lives that bit harder, by forcing down there meagre wages even more .
