  my initial reaction was the same as yours baz but having had time think about it i can see the benefits to the reds.
  
  most people when they go to the ballot box at general elections base their vote on the party leaders rather than mp 's.
  
  very few see one nation ed as prime minister and even more do not see mr b*lls as chancellor or home secretary.
  
  very little talent is waiting in the wings so to bring back people with proven presentation skills could be a serious vote winner for them. telling porkies in the past is not a great problem, people expect that of politicians - almost a badge of honour.
