It is time to bring back the cane in Schools and hanging it has all gone to far now ,the do good,s have had their way and it has not worked now we need to go back to how it was.

If corporal punishment had worked it wouldn't have been the same names repeatedly in the punishment book. Going by memory it was mostly utilised by bad teachers who got a kick hitting children with a lump of wood. Modern day teachers wouldn't use it anyway if it was made legal.

PMSL Vic I thought I was bad. I would never let any teacher near me with a stick or ruler whilst I saw my friends being beaten in front of my eyes. I was bigger than them who were doing it for one and lot meaner, not that I did anything wrong just some teachers were slap happy or got kicks from beating children in some cases.
I agree with hanging, if beyond a shadow of doubt someone murdered someone because they just wanted to do it - more so a murder of child as this is most horrible of all and taking into account it was very clear they did it intentionally. Then yes hang them because it not right they took someone life and then they get fed, watch TV, have a counselling, have leisure activities everything done for them etc whilst peoples lives are ruined and all they have is a grave to go to and years of living in pain knowing the killer is having it easy.
Beating kids with canes now is just not the done thing, we become more sensitive to this type of action. Getting the Parents in to sit with their children in school when they been bad would be better option and would help a lot of parents who spoil most of their children and let them get away with lipping elders or anyone. This embarrassment and parents lost time will help them both to come to terms with the behavior. Im sure when the Parent is losing work time or their time also they will get down on their kids more and if that dont work then they need a special school really if they want their parent to suffer.

Capital punishment will never return it would only result in more guilty people getting off scot free.
Jurors know that if they do convict someone and a few years later they find him or her innocent then they can be freed, which they can't do to someone executed.

I'm against hanging or this slapping kids about.
There may well be problems but better solutions to be found.
Having come from a catholic background where nuns beat kids on a daily basis and other teachers
I for one would be against it for those reasons.

The release of those who kill children after serving a term does not stop them they do it again. Someone who planned a murder without shodow of doubt should not be free from hanging. In past we had uneducated Police and no DNA today is more educate, controlled and DNA. But were releasing them back into society to do it again MAKES NO SENSE AT ALL.

I am sure there is more than above, as Brian says 'a softly,softly touch doesn't work' I think the above is complete madness. I suppose their release is to wait for them to do it again at the loss of another beautiful soul before something is done. Go to graves of children and speak to their parents and sisters and brothers come away and say again 'hanging' is not the way. As in the other story DNA was used to we have a lot going for getting something 99% that good enough for me. I do not know who is in government and their backgrounds but seems they like child killers by the looks of the above. The whole of this country is wrong very wrong one day people will open their eyes and take no more.

The death penalty was abolished around the time that homosexual acts between consenting adults was decriminalised which gives and indication of how things have moved on. If it was ever properly debated rather than knee jerk comments then it would never return.

Well it wont be debated because we have a load of narcissist idiots in play working the system some themselves doing wrong so no debate really will happen. Our prisons will over flow with criminals and people who wont pay their Poll Tax which is a top list criminal act according to this government and councils. Nothing is a crime unless you cause harm to another and that is the fact of life just someone changed the game and now everything criminal soon it will be criminal to kiss in public mark my words.
