  You're being a trifle unkind John as Sir Nick did opine some time back that the EU had become arrogant, aloof and didn't understand people's patriotism which now manifests itself as nationalism across the EU. Getting back to the army there all sorts of questions about the logistics, common language etc, who would give orders - the only certainty is that Italy would be put in charge of surrenders.
