Dear Forumers,
Does it matter how a journalist behaves in getting their "big story"? Are journalists mainly agenda-driven and opportunistic?
Is it acceptable for a journalist to harass someone, bombard them with a lot of phone calls and emails, and abuse their mental health issues. And embellish a story, bend the truth, use prejudice and stereotyping, and just make things up, in order to get their "big story"?
I am sure that there are some journalists who are genuine. That are decent, reliable people and have good principles.

What, am I hearing right - there are people who don't like Spam?! Served in a bowl with mashed potato, submerged in tomato soup - yum!

Dear Button,
You say that you like spam when it is the tinned meat product which is made mainly from ham. It was actually served quite a lot at one of the schools I went to. But not served in the way that you specify.
Regarding the other type of spam on the internet, the work of many journalists is basically like that spam, where they just carelessly produce a massive amount of information for the purpose of being paid to do it.

Sorry but YUK! to both kinds of spam, but I still like corned beef.

True story.
My carer's father used to cook spam fritters. She knew he had learnt German during the war so when they were served up as 'Dedurman' thought this was German for 'spam fritter'.
It was years later that she found out that her father, a Burnley man, was referring to 'dead airmen'.

Dear Captain Haddock,
Thank you for your anecdote but I guess it basically seems like another negative view of this tinned meat product. Personally I have nothing against that kind of spam. But of course no one surely likes online spam, email spam, or newspaper spam.
