I really liked this news story:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cn0gp459grzo
According to the BBC: 'a 24-tonne earthmover was stolen from Staffordshire and driven through Wolverhampton city centre and on to a dual carriageway. West Midlands Police said they were alerted to the vehicle after it crossed the border into Wolverhampton just before 17:40 GMT and that it damaged road surfaces before coming to a stop on New Road, Willenhall at 20:15.
A 41-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drink driving, dangerous driving, threat to damage or destroy property, theft, failing to stop, taking a conveyance without consent, and using threatening, abusive or insulting words and behaviour to cause harassment.'
It conjured up images of West Midlands' finest brandishing truncheons and yelling "Stop, stop" as they chased the rampaging earthmover for well over 2 hours - presumably mounted on a steamroller. I was surprised that apparently Wolverhampton has a border, and that the rap sheet didn't include 'looking at me in a funny way'. Still, I expect he'll go down for cheeking a policeman.
