Worth another outing at this time I feel:
Vexatious Elderly.
Lockdown must change a ‘think tank’ once said,
We need the workers to work, not laying in bed,
Change furloughs to furrows start earning your keep,
No job to return to? Then help our farmers to reap.
Send your children to school, they have lessons to learn,
They may carry the virus back home to the old and infirm,
But we must look after big business and shareholders greed,
Continue the lockdown for the over 70’s, now a naff breed!
We could corral the elderly with an instruction that will suck,
Then send persistent offenders from lockdown to lockup,
Convert the emptied care homes, buy their abodes for a song,
Thus providing more housing for the young and the strong.
Consider the struggles the oldies endured for your future before,
You regain the life you enjoyed, then slam shut their door!
The past, their past, is of no concern to you now they are old,
Just humour them briefly then tell them, “just do as you’re told!”
