Ah, but some heretics were 'helped along' by a kindly executioner with a bag of gunpowder before the flames melted them. If DC does go he'll get a cushy number somewhere anyway, and some other spad'll take his chair. Meanwhile the new, improved bigger-than-ever-before big State will make it mandatory for each of us to have our own Groom of the Stool and examining doctor (for which we'll have to pay, of course).
