  It appears, sadly, that people get killed on our roads; the provisional figure for the 12 months ending June 2019 was 1,870: https://www.gov.uk/government/statistics/reported-road-casualties-in-great-britain-provisional-estimates-year-ending-june-2019. Reckon I'm going to have to stock-up on something and at least keep my distance from other drivers - if, in fact, I don't just stay indoors until the risk has passed.
