Western Heights Garrison Church

Date: Unknown  (Do you know? Please contact us if you can help)
Built in 1859, the Western Heights Garrison Church was located on what is now the green in the centre of Knights Templars road.

The church was demolished in 1962, with the bell being taken to Old Park Barracks where it was put into storage until an envisaged new church was built. The Gothic cross was also moved to the chapel at Old Park.

All church,s are lovely buildings and very well build but they get taken down because they can not get folk to use them but in the case of the one you are talking about after the Army pulled out it was a long walk for the public of Dover to get to .
