I have taken some pictures of our two pets Lucky and Missy. They are both scared of fireworks. These are first time together in a basket fotos. after nearly 11 months.
We are usually put the radio on for them to overcome the noise of the fireworks. It does help a little.
If you have pictures of your pets feel free to add :) nice to meet them All

Welcome Heike, lovely pictures that prove cats and dogs can get on quite happily, we had a 'mixed family' of pets in the past and they all got on well together. We are now down to two cats, one could not care less about fireworks the other hates them.

One of my dogs called Olivia is terrified of fireworks and thunderstorms..She is so bad that she hides behind the toilet...I would ban fireworks except for organised displays..Thunderstorms cannot be banned, they are the remit of a far higher Authority.

Putting the radio on is a very good idea, will mask the noise of fireworks.

lovely photos, there is absolutely no chance of my cat snuggling up to a dog, frightened the life out of a dog that was passing by once.

When me old Labrador heard a firework going off he would rush to the back door, waiting to be let out so he could retrieve whatever had been shot and fallen in the garden.

I have found it useful in the past to build a tunnel/cave out of dog beds and cushions. I found that once the dog thought its head was safe, all was OK.

I never thought our two pets would get along. Here we go.. our cat have notice the anxiety of our Dog and went straight in the basket. I find Household noice which your pets are used to it is comfort for them. Thats why i have the radio on at such events. It works even for the thunder and lightning.

slightly off topic but the subject of different species getting on together has been raised on the the thread, back in the mid 1990's i took delivery of a 7 year old lhasa apso "fat ted" who had little interest in anything other than sleeping and eating.
all that changed when i was asked to look after a cockatiel by friends going on holiday.
ted was obsessed and straight after dinner every evening she would sprint into the living room to stare at the bird.
her party trick was to wait for the bird to doze off then bark loudly into the cage startling the unfortunate creature.

even funnier when charlie the bird came out of his cage heike.
i was told to leave the cage door open and he would simply do one lap on tiptoe and go back in.
not so he turned into an eagle and flew around the room squawking his head off, finally landing on the curtain rail.
i was left in terror whilst ted was happily wagging her tail at the performance.

I can imagine!!!
Must be very comical to see it. I know what Birds can be like I had budgies until 7 years ago. They are funny little characters.
Pets in general are really lovely to have and good company too.
