  I noted in the town this morning outside newsagents, two items of news on the placards. One headlined the recent rockfall at St Margarets Bay (over a week ago), the other headlined the Boxing Day dip (last year). I thought news travelled fast these days?

  That's because the news bills are a week old. New ones tomorrow. The boxing day dip went in after the new year because of our bank holiday deadlines. It was do it late or not do it at all and as so many people put the effort in to take part I decided we should do it anyway

  i have often wondered why newsagents leave those boards outside all week.
  
  i would have thought that anyone would have bought the paper by the end of the weekend.
