    The funny thing is that people who think this train line is a good idea call those opposed to the scheme nimbys. Ironic really when the very woman who has pronounced the go-ahead is indeed a nimby of classic proportions. For it was she, Justine Greening, who made the most noise against any expansion at Heathrow.
    Guess which constituency Justine Greening represents.
    As regards employment it will cost taxpayers, that's you and me by the way, enormous amounts just in terms of employing people to build it.
    I mean each job, at today's prices, stand at £800,000 . Gordon Brown could only have dreamed up such subsidies when he was in office although, as we all know, he made a very good fist of making up pretend jobs when he needed to.
    But I guess to be seen as doing something, however expensive and ludicrous, is par for the course in today's political age.
