Crabble corn Mill has applied for a grant towards carrying out major repairs to the water wheel and could do with support this Saturday in Sandwich if you can spare an hour voting starts at 11am.
Thank you

People can get over to Sandwich, support the Mill and be back by mid-day.

Viewing is from 10am and voting is from 11am so as Roger has said it only needs an hour of your time and of course you may even like to vote for other entries as well as the Mill while you are there.
Thank you to all those that support the Mill, even if you can not make it we do appreciate your support throughout the year.

Crabble Corn Mill received an award.Sadly some people did not .A great pity as the cost of putting on a display then the journey to Sandwich must have made them feel very disappointed.Im sure there is a better and more simlpe way !

Yes we did get the grant Crabble Corn Mill applied for and of course were very happy but there is also a sense of disappointment for those other good causes that also applied and like us put a lot of work into their presentation but got nothing.
Thank you to all those that supported the Mill application and also those that traveled over to support their own good causes.

Dover Transport Museum also got their money and EKR woodland Trust. Congratulations and well done - they all did well and gave great presentations.
As Sue said, there should be a better/easier way to fund these very well-deserving projects. It must have been very disappointing for Ray (Newsom) and others to have put in a lot of work and receive nothing.
There was something like £9,000 odd available and over £22,000 requested, so it was always going to be quite a few that lost out.

It is always a shame when those that put an effort into something loose out through no fault of their own, maybe in future the awards could be spread a little further so all the applicants at least get something.
I know I am flogging a dead horse here but £270 would have been better than nothing and possible a better way to spend any spare cash, before anyone says anything I know it is a different council.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

Another great turn out for the You Decide event, mirroring the tremendous support in Dover town last week. Not everyone received funding but many of the projects got a welcome boost in other ways with their exhibitions attracting new members, volunteers and other forms of support from the many members of the public who attended.

I'm sure they did Kevin - some very good supporters and as you say, in good numbers too. I had a good chat with Dave at the Transport Museum and some of his volunteers; he and they work very hard - as do all the volunteers and community groups.

You're not wrong Jan but dead horses are not part of the food chain yet.....officially!
