Dover has always been a good place for talent, and that is down to the clubs and helpers behind them ,well done.

The Dover Talent is there but their backup needs more funding.

there lies the problem, the arts are usually the first to suffer from cuts in funding when money is tight.

The number 1 show will be launched soon on Sunday Jan 22 Dover Town Hall 'A Celebration of the Sea' at 3pm Not a talent show but a show of Talent plus so much more tickets from £5
If you knew what I know,we would both be in trouble!

ever the impressario john, will you be bringing along a major star from television as a surprise guest on the evening?

Not a Major star from TV Howard, got Steve Ladner from Radio Kent as compare, but you should see the Sycronised Dance team but they are sworn to secrecy, but you might know a few of them.
There is a chance of a Film star as well, but although I have talked to him need to confirm.

If you knew what I know,we would both be in trouble!

Bringing it back to topic gentlemen...
this event was organised really well by a young team, and they did auditions across the County and the young girl that won had never sung on the stage in public by herself before.. and honestly.. she made the hairs on my arms go.. absolutely fantastic, unfortunately her name is not springing to mind, but she was just fab.. got a standing ovation pretty much :)
It was really nice to see young people from all over Kent coming together to show case what they could do, we had clarinet players, singers, dancers, rap artists ( they did their own lyrics) a couple of bands, one of them did a mumford and sons cover.. and it was a great opener.. loved them :) and i am sure i missed some talent as well..
It wasnt about having big stars, it was about the Youth and their talents. All the proceeds are being ploughed back into youth services, the top 3 acts are now able to have lessons of some kind and then invoice Youth Services to a certain amount.
Lots of small businesses were involved, and the Town Hall as always were fab even after a long weekend.

Thanks Jenni.
This sounds just the thing for young people and well done to all the people who organised it, as well as the young people who took part.
Good to hear that small businesses were involved, presumably through sponsorship ?
