  Sorry but Dover does very little, VE Day - nothing, VJ Day - nothing, compared to Folkestone Dover is way down the list. Yes we have a new bench which is great but look where DTC stuck the flag pole !!! The flag is rarely flown. My original post was asking why the wreaths laid on memorial Sunday in Dover were taken away & dumped so quickly & i still don't think I've had an answer I,m happy with. A DTC Councillor once said that the union flag if flown near the memorial would spoil the view of the memorial, thousands of men died fighting under that flag - what a disrespectful thing to say & that's how I feel about wreaths being taken away its lack of respect for other people's feelings.
