Vic is right Dover has many memorials.A few years ago i attended a service when more names were added to the memorial and was blessed by the Bishop of Dover.I stated in an earlier post i laid 44wreaths during my term as Chairman. We have the wonderful memorial at Marine station,The one at St Margarets Bay remembering the Dover Patrol,Two on the seafront THE merchant Navy, and the the Channel Dash.We remember The Armed forces on Armed Forces day which is in a few
weeks time.
I'm not disrespectful but all families have lost loved ones.My husband 33yeats ago.I can remember him in my own way.He lives on through his children.
I stress again The Town Council look after the memorial and the gardens very well.Recently a new bench has been placed near to it..Dover have a lovely service every year.
Not forgetting of course the Herald memorial and the gardens on the sea front. Many of us recall that terrible day in 1987 .
Yes Dover does remember .
