Just to add to this most of my own family have been in the Army or R,A,F and even the Royal Navy and we have a war grave out at the Bay.
What I would just like to say about what happen is please remember The White Cliff Branch is a new one with a lot of members that are not only new to that Branch but also new to the R,B,L, and some of them have carried out duty,s they have never done before and they have done and still doing very well and we thank them very much for the work they are putting into the branch and I hope what has happen will not put them off from helping to keep the White Cliff Branch open.
Going back to the Wreaths and what happen is the Two volunteers that done a great job being out in all that bad weather 7 days a week putting up the cross,s etc.
On the Saturday morning when they where taking the Wreaths away the weather was very bad and I happen to be passing and I told them because of the very bad weather they was doing the right thing in removing them if that had not been done the wreaths as we have seen in the pass will end up be blowing any where ,also as I said they were new to doing this job.So please do not put any blame onto them. They done what was best at the time.
After talking about it on the phone today I said if it happens again and the weather is that bad maybe we should take the wreaths away and find cover for them where the public can still see them it could be a local Church or even at the War monument at the Western end of the port where Remembering the fallen can still carry on.We will try to get it sorted out better for next year,There is no blame to be put on anyone or the council.Thank you, please can we now please move away from it now We in the R,B. L are there to remember the fallen of all wars and help the familys that are left behind ,and also members of the armed services.I am not very good at putting things into words but I hope in this case I have said the right words in the right way,Again Thank you.

I could not agree more about putting the wreathes in a more covered area when its bad weather ,the church in the high street is open 7 days a wk, so maybe the Vicar would be happy to make room for a small area for all wreathes in the future ,,
