They have come under the spotlight before with their zero hours contracts in their shops but the warehouse seems like a nightmare to work in - 20 miles of walking per shift.

I,ve often wondered what its like at the shop in town,i use it regularly and to me they seem to have a high turnover of staff,no-one seems to stay there long.

I've only been in there twice and it seemed to be almost entirely staffed by youngsters. Zero hours contracts mean that only someone still living with their parents could afford to take a job there.

the TUC have jumped in now pointing out that the company is breaking the law by not paying them for the 15 minutes each day that employees lose by being searched when they leave the premises.

Whilst people look further afield at worst companies to work for lets spare a thought for all the Dover to Calais staff of which many are still holding out for a contract. At this time of year it is especially difficult for them due to the reduction of hours on their zero contracts due to the seasonal reduction in sailings.

Strange that no-one mention Father Christmas in all this. You've all been happy to exploit him over the last century or so without even a murmur of sympathy.

Just finished watching the programme and the usual stuff about sweatshops, low wages, fire hazards and blocked emergency exits and the owners of these businesses are seen as the only bad chaps.
Statements from River Island, New Look and various online retailers were seemingly shocked at the findings and proudly proclaimed their ethical standards, regular spot checks on supplier etc etc.
Nobody asks the obvious question as to how factories here could compete with factories in Bangla Desh and China and still pay the living wage.
