  i would never say such a thing barry, so many coincidences, the 2 daves(cameron and beckham) plus others gave a brilliant presentation to no avail.
  
  ask yourself these questions,
  
  a) the english are more football mad than any other country.
  b) all our stadiums are up to standard, none of russias are.
  c) our public transport and infrastructure is already in place, russia will start on there's tomorrow.
  d) if need be we could hold a world cup next week, russia will be hard put to get ready in 8 years.
  e) all tickets would be sold in all stadiums a year in advance of the world cup happening, most russians would not be able to afford a single match ticket.
  
  i could list more, but the oligarchs have more money than everybody else.
