    I dont like football at all, or sport in general come to that. Personally I do not care if the World Cup comes to England and I will not watch a minute of it even in the unlikely event of England gettting to the final.

    Also I dont really think this is something government should get involved in at all BUT - if they did not there would be an uproar in the press. So the government cant win either way.

    To be fair though, what is spent on this by the taxpayer, should it come to the UK, would represent a small proportion of the economic benefit it would bring. Tourism and business would benefit from the contest being held here.

    It is a gamble spending the dosh but then life is a gamble.
