  Not in the Ticket Offices,more passengers 8% increase to pay Shareholders then with everyone sitting in the offices in London who do they look at get rid of those that the public can see.Drivers won't go for obvious reasons,Guards jobs will change as some of them will become Train Managers.Smaller stations will close especially those at part time Stations but they have to change the agreement they have when they took over.So all most certainly means Station staff.We are 24 hours a day as we are an (advantix) guards depot we make up count the money and do the accountancy for the Guards and the last guard is in at 01.30 and they start again just after 4am.
  So with 5 members of staff and being 24hrs a day and 363 days a year.This means that e only have 2 members of staff in the ticket office between 07.40 and 11.50.This leads to ques in the afternoon and evening.We have asked for an additional member of staff.But they only did this a few times when they had staff not covering leave,in fact on my shift last summer I only ever had one person extra on one day!
  So unless they cut out a Guards depot,and with the new High Speed Trains coming to Dover,that could still cut them out by making the Guards work out of Ramsgate which they do now.
  The problem is I don't want to give them ideas,and of course I can't really comment too much on this as Free speech doesn't exsist on the Railways.But after 35 years I have never enjoyed the job less now that at any of that time.More and more time is spent working with computers and less time with the public,and they think the TVM the Ticket Vending Machine is the answer to everything.But you put in there single to London after 10.00 or advance purchase og group 3 or 4 ticket and you don't get what you want.
  After 35 years and virtually having been displaced from my job and reapplying for the same job I am doing 10 or 12 times,of course everytime you do this there is one job less.
  Who remembers when we had the Travel Centre where we did complicated and European bookings,that closed because we were too good at it.Then we had 12 Clerks now it is 5,and we can't even take Euro's.
