  you have asked the question why people should watch the screen when they can do the same at home.
  
  why do people go out to eat and drink when they can do that home?
  answer, a spot of social intercourse, something enjoyed by the majority of us.
  incidentally, do you know what is going to be shown on the screen?
  
  
  answer, most of us do not at this stage, except for local programming, that is not available on the box at home.
  
  brian is right in post 106, pipe dreams are continually being rolled out about the bowling alley, state of the art cinema, skating rink etc.
  
  never any ideas on how to fund them.
  
  if we get all this malarkey about one screen, why would a large company consider opening a multi screen cinema?
