Is anyone watching this fabulous series on BBC2? Its on again tonight at 7pm. I'm absolutely fascinated by it, not at least taken lol! by the astounding knowledge of the delectable Professor Brian Cox who for us ladies puts the Sigh! into Science. I remember daughter Briony dragging her somewhat reluctant Mum around Cern in Geneva, whilst I feigned interest in Black Holes and Protons but now try to tear me away from the said Professor Cox at your peril

Colette, I can only agree that science has regained some of its fascination of late............

Definitely, I echo these comments - I think he went to the same school as I did, in Grimsby - he has a nice Lincs accent !!
A wonderful series, which is made so interesting... I love it...

Gosh, I hadn't realised Brian Cox was back with another series. BBC iplayer, here I come!
I loved his last series - not only because it was fascinating, but because he is so amazingly enthusiastic and excited about everything. He's like a child in the biggest toyshop in the world.

Thanks Alec for putting me right, I do love Lancashire as well as Lincs having spent some time there - another North Midlands accent - he talks as though he is speaking to you personally, and his voice sounds like dark velvet !
There are some interesting things on the web about him, including he was part of a pop group.

I think it's fair to say that us women are captivated by Science

Yeah right ! Its got nowt to do with wanting to mother Mr Cox.....he was on Something for the weekend an was helping to bake muffins..he promptly started the whisk which fell into peices into the mixing bowl.Priceless tv. I think his appeal is as mentioned above plus his ability to translate it it into english that we the plebs can follow. He'll be wearing a monocle next..
