The shameful DDC reaction simply illustrates that dropping a single cigarette butt is deemed more serious than tipping several bags of rubbish into the River Dour.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

We have had various photo calls from Councillor Kenton on the subject of littering, fly tipping an d dog mess. Firstly we had the "We listened and are taking action" message followed by the crowing about zero tolerance when the first oiks dropped fag ends in town. Nothing as far as I know on dog mess, now we have 100% tolerance of a serial fly tipper. To have calmly unloaded 5 large sacks then emptying them into the river says to me that his confidence has grown over time.
I see on the father sherred fly tipping story(Dover express last week) a council spokesman said "We would stress that fly-tipping is a criminal offence and DDC will always take appropriate enforcement action where there is sufficient evidence to identify the culprit. "
We now know what appropriate action means!
I see no one from the council has bothered to comment yet!
