  [Oh how the language suffers. I 'feel' for the lonely quotation mark above, bur oh how handy it is in the struggle to conflate what is actually said along with the editor's slant.]
  
  Of course there is increased tension. Radar and Radio operators are sure to be finding their shifts whiz-by now that their days are full. Not to mention air-traffic controllers, fuel and food supply chains straining at every link. It is what they are all trained to do though.
  
  It is not to be doubted that Kerry needs all the help he can get, and things are getting pretty tense for him too. I appears that he has been garnering 'support' from some in what he terms the European Bloc; many agree with him the CW are a bad thing, few (if any at all) wish for military action to take place, but this somehow turns into backing for his President's stance.
  
  It is difficult to see what can yet be done for the best.
  A Vote for military action with stringent provisos, a declaration of a War Crime, coupled with a sincere effort to have whoever was responsible/Assad to justice at some later date. Perhaps an ongoing presence of military hardware in the Med, and a reduction in inter-Nation tension and an increased awareness of the refugee crisis and more aid. But no actual bombing.
  Is my best guess.
