    That's a tough one Peter, estimates of 1m displaced people/refugees, the population of a large UK city. Just how does anybody shelter and feed those people for an unknown timescale? And if Assad is replaced will they be welcome back or want to return.

    All humanitarian efforts are well intentioned but they require as much planning as military action.
