I only got the cane once in all my school years, never went back there
the teachers being able to disipline helped many, but on the other side of the coin teachers abusing kids
in a physical way was a minority but was wrong so why it had to change but not to how it happens today.
peter you may/will recall the police were also respected and able to clip you round the ear for doing wrong and telling your parents then you get a second dose lol(that also went)
I suppose in my life iv survived, from a poor background(had no money) but didnt steal, break the law ect, and used to occupy ourselves, out most of the day.
I was taught right from wrong, and luckily never found myself(often) lol on the wrong side of the law
it didnt do me any harm, but today society has changed, and unless we allow teachers to teach and the police to do the job there paid to do, plus all the others like doctors etc, and not have to worry about compensation claims etc
then we are going backwards
