Very sad. A once great singer and a pretty good actress.
Another case of a life being destroyed and wasted through drugs. Will people learn from it ? I doubt it.
Shame though.

I am not one to take much interest in the doings of the 'famous', but there is this transcript of her interview with Oprah...

sad news indeed, but i have to be a bit heartless here at the moment,a certain local radio station [not radio kent i must add] have used 1 minute 57 seconds of a 2 minute news slot reporting her sudden death.a longish line up of clebs have been singing her praises.

Sad news, RIP.
Just because she took drugs it is pure speculation that her death is drug related there could easily be another reason, we should not jump to conclusions.

So many great entertainers seem to go the same way, there are obviously aspects of the lifestyle of a sleb that many can't cope with.
But they live on in their music. R.I.P. Whitney along with many others (Elvis, Karen Carpenter, Amy Winehouse, etc.)
I'm an optimist. But I'm an optimist who takes my raincoat - Harold Wilson
Another talented life lost , i blame her ex husband he seems to be the part in her life it started to go wrong . RIP X

very sad news, sometimes the pressures of being in the public eye can prove too much for some.

She has been a troubled lady for quite sometime but still sad to hear the news of her death, but I am sure her music will stay around for along time.

RIP Whitney. You've been taken from us far too soon. Your music will live on in our lives and hearts forever. So many great songs, so many great memories to go with them.

Very sad news but can't say I'm surprised you can't abuse your body for that long and expect to get away with it. Another great talent taken in by the world of celebrity and drugs. What bothers me is why other celebrities, most of whom I suspect did not know her, feel the need to Tweet about how they are in tears etc. Can they not show their respects more privately? This is not the time to be seeking attention about how the news has affected THEM!

Exactly. Sad news indeed, although we didn't know the woman herself. But the elaborate grieving we will have to witness will probably be a tad "American" for us. Sad to hear of anyones death, though, and respects to her family.

Sad news indeed, R.I.P Whitney Houston.
I have spent many happy hours listening to her great songs and of course singing along to all those wonderful but mostly emotional lyrics. She was a marvellous singer and a very moving performer.
