 - not heard anything about debenhams, marks and spencer would not be given planning permission to build up there.

besides the destruction it would cause to the town centre, there has been talk of them being the anchor store for the d.t.i.z.

 - I thought it was the start of Phase 2 but I do not know of any businesses that have been secured.

 - That area was originally designated as industrial and commercial, I understand, but having turned down Norbert Dentressangle's UK depot and approved Tesco, Homebase and B&Q, the council planners seem to have lost the plot well and truly. So the work near that roundabout could be anything from a Starbucks to Santa's grotto.

 - No Keith I realised years ago when you were a councillor in the Labour DDC administration. Unfortunately we have the same faceless people in the planning department as we did then. Neither main party seems to be able to get the planners to stop obstructing Dover's progress. - I'm an optimist. But I'm an optimist who takes my raincoat - Harold Wilson

- Unregistered User - The road access in The White Cliffs Business Park is for Asssems a Dutch trailer construction company which is locating in Dover with potential for 50 jobs.

 - Paul
is this separate to Phase 2 or part of it? Is there any news on Phase 2 otherwise?

- Unregistered User - It is Phase 2 Mark.

Lots of talk by people on Phase 2 but little delivery at present.

A lot of jockeying going on.

 - Thanks, Paul.
Does the Park & Ride (BRT) depend on Phase 2 or is that separate? That looks like an excellent idea which could help reshape the town.

- Unregistered User - BRT part of Whitfield housing development passes thru phase 2 & 3 joins up Connaught Barracks development into town centre & then onto Dover Priory.

To be built in phases as each development comes alive. This will be a KCC project as they are the transport authority.
