  With all the very high costs a pub has in this day and age they will struggle, good beer, food, atmosphere or history is no longer enough. The only ones that struggle less are those in a prime location with large floor space so they can diversify more easily to cater for what is needed in their area, be it music, food, etc.
  
  It is always sad when a pub with such a historical past closes, but nostalgia does not pay the bills.
