A new poll has revealed a Kent landmark as one of the seven wonders of the UK.
The research carried out by OscarUK.co.uk, a concessions website for the over-50s, revealed the White Cliffs of Dover as the second greatest wonder of this country.
Only Stonehenge tipped the Dover landmark off the top spot.
It comes as a quarter of those surveyed revealed they're more likely to be visiting the famous cliffs, and other British beauty spots, than topping up their tans on foreign shores.
Peter Simpson, managing director at OscarUK, said: "Last year, the number of people from the UK choosing to holiday at home rose by more than 17 per cent, and this year looks set to top the trend.
"Those feeling the financial squeeze are choosing to shun an overseas trip in favour of staying at home and enjoying the best this country has to offer."
The top seven wonders are as follows, according to the survey:
1) Stonehenge
2) The White Cliffs of Dover
3) Cheddar Gorge
4) The Giant's Causeway
5) Loch Lomond
6) Snowdon
7) York Minster

That was publicised a few days/couple of weeks ago Marek, but well done for putting up on here.
The White Cliffs of Dover have won many awards and accolades over the years, it's a pity no one has capitalised on it to increase visitor numbers, other than the National Trust.

Here is a pic of the tail end of the White Cliffs at St Margarets.
They certainly are a spectacular sight, clearly a lovely region to visit. The cliffs in general can only be reached by car though...

Had many a party on that beach in the 70.s burning driftwood and bbq-ing bangers and burgers..thats all we could afford in those days...drinking tins of Long Life bitter which you had to pierce with a tin opener...twice..

Why has there never been a campaign to get the castle and White cliffs on the government's tentative list of sites for UNESCO world heritage status?

the whole procedure can take up to 25 years.

It was indeed started by Andrew but back in 2003. It was actually withdrawn a few years later, not sure of the real reason, but it was said it would hamper regeneration as there are many stipulations and obstacles - but it didn't stop Canterbury did it ?
