a team of volunteers were up the heights today clearing rubbish, by the number of bags already full when i went past they will be hard put getting it all on their minibus at the end of the day. - 15 April 2011 18:04101895The WCCP volunters are one of the unsung heroes of the district. They do so much work litter clearing and tidying up the heights, at Aycliffe, Samphire Hoe, the Dour and elsewhere and hardly ever seek publicity. One rarely sees them but the difference they make is astounding.

We had a (WCCP) chap come to talk to us at our recent Priory Forum meeting and he was very enthusiastic about our next clean-up and will come to help us and advise.

caught phil a few minutes later, he grudgingly agreed to pose for a shot with the proviso he could keep his eyes shut.
apparently there were a few new helpers today which made the day a bit shorter.
maybe phil can fill us in on who they were and when the next clean up is planned.
