Class is entirely an attitude of mind.
There are plenty of high class people born in what Keith would like to regard his 'working class' and some real slobs born to the so called upper and middle classes.
Dividing society, creating a them and us attitude, suits the political aims of the left quite well.
I was born in Tower Hamlets, my dad was a butcher in Tower Hamlets Street where I was brought up, my grandad was from a coal mining family and he, himself went in the Royal Navy as a stoker. I have a touch of gypsy in me too..... I left school at 15 and have done many jobs in my time until settling into a career over 21 years ago.
From the age of 18 I got involved in the Conservative party through which I met people of all backgrounds. My first introduction to a 'polite' dinner party was when I was 19 with a friend and his wife who I met campaigning in the October 1979 general election. Since then such dinners have become part of my life including dinner with cousins of the Queen. Paula, herself, is a cousin to a baronet and I have met and been welcomed by that side of her family.
Never at any time have I felt anything but welcome and been treated and respected for who and what I am. The only snobbery I have ever found has been reverse snobbery. No-one has ever looked down on me.
Our so called class system is not a fixed inpenetrable thing though the left wing like to portray it otherwise.
