In contrast ,over here it's Liberation weekend which culminates on Bank Holiday Monday 9th May with a service in Liberation Sq. It's 66 years since the islanders were liberated from German occupation and the survivors lessen with each passing anniversary. So the island is full of dignitaries,service men,descendants and tourists.
Yesterday I attended the 'world' premiere of a musical number named ''Fanfare for Jersey'' composed by Howard Blake him of 'Walking in the wind' fame from the Snowman animation.
Needless to say that as all these events are free one can usually find me there
