Once again honesty from the Leader of the Council,he means that DDC are or have just about signed the contract to bring in Wheelie Bins.
If you knew what I know,we would both be in trouble!

john
i read the mesage from the fuhrer bunker very differently.
the impression i got was that the wheelies would be deployed where appropriate.

85% to 90% appropriate across the District and Folkestone.

Being very selfish so long as I get one I don't care about the rest of you.
Seriously I hope all built up areas get one so the street rubbish gets cut down, it will also deter the raiding seagulls.

As long as they are in streets that allow them to be taken off the pavement. Castle street area for example isnt appropriate. Of course the next step is to restrict how much you can put out so more traffic queuing at the tip and more fuel used. A new kind of street furniture.but uglier than lamposts!

Look at DDC website , it gives a brief description.
Thank you John. Never one to tell the full story.I told you that publicly in front of the press on Weds, i,e. we are just about to sign the contract, just some haggling to do on price & share with others

Did you see that council on tv that had 19 different re cycling bins.
And council was defending it.

i am actually in favour of the wheelie bins, i don't see them as unsightly as a load of rubbish strewn all down the road.
certain communities are up in arms about them, usually in the more attractive locations.

Howard I haven't really spoken against them, but in some areas and some people won't be able to cope with them, for instance I pointed out at London Road Community Forum they would be good on the left hand side going out of the Town except for the steps in some places, but on the right hand side where properties open out onto the footpath would be difficult if not impossible, and on a Thursday morning they will be in London Road not on the pavement.

Where I used to live there was no problem even where there were terraced houses and a fairly narrow pavement.
Bring on the wheelies

. We should see less rubbish on the streets.
