The post you are reporting:
I don't go out to the Docks to greet tourists, no-one pays me to either!
But if I see a tourist in trouble, I always help out.
The other night one was locked out of his hostel and needed to phone the owner to open the door, as this wouldn't open when pressing the code.
Immediately I pulled out my phone and dialed the number he showed me, and summoned the owner to descend and open, which he did. It turned out that one had to barge the door open on pressing the code number, the door being somewhat old and stiff.
I explained to the tourist he was fortunate I had just enough credit on my phone, it was on its last pennies.
After the door was opened, I enquired of his provenance, which was Minnesota USA, and recommended he go visit the Castle during his stay. He said he would.
The other week, during the night, two forlorn tourists asked if there was a cheap hostel in town, so I accompanied them to the Castle Inn, where they got what they were looking for, at a reasonable price.
That saved them about 50 quid on standard B/B.
